Coffee Hour: Volunteers are needed for Coffee Hour. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex. For more information please speak to Ann Wilkinson. Upcoming Events: Harvest Thanksgiving Food Donations For our Harvest Thanksgiving service this year, we will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items to support the mobile food pantry that St Columba hosts in the parking lot on Tuesday mornings. Donations can be brought to the church on Wednesday mornings between 9:00 a.m. and noon, or on any Sunday between now and October 13 (or simply bring your donation to church for our service on Sunday, October 13). If you are able, please consider supporting this vital ministry of assistance to our community. Thank you, and if you have any questions, please contact the church.
Oct 5 and 6: Prayers for Creation and Blessing of the Animals On Saturday Oct 5 at 3pm we will be having Prayers for Creation and the Blessing of Animals outside at St Columba, weather permitting. There will be a short liturgy that will include the blessing of our beloved pets and other animal friends. Please bring them, as possible, leashed/secured as appropriate. If you cannot join us on Saturday, St Andrew's will celebrate this short liturgy on Sunday Oct 6 at 4pm, outside at St Andrew's, weather permitting.
Sunday Oct 20: Pulpit Exchange St Columba and St Andrew's have collaborated in a number of ways, and on Oct 20th, parish clergy Matt and Rambie will switch places in a spirit of fun and friendship. (So rest assured that no, you aren't seeing things; it will indeed be a different person standing up there on this morning!)
Sunday Oct 27: Potluck Coffee Hour Please join us following service for a potluck coffee hour.
Saturday Nov 2 at 4:00pm: Deanery Prayer Service Feast of All Saints All are welcome for this Deanery of Waterloo Prayer service being hosted by St Columba.
Sunday Nov 24 at 7:00pm: Final Deconsecration Service Sadly, St Columba Anglican Church will close later this year, with the final deconsecration service taking place on Sunday Nov 24 at 7:00pm. It has been a privilege as a congregation to minister in this neighbourhood. Negotiations are underway with various key players to ensure this location will continue to service the local community. Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available.
